Working as a Bike Tour Guide
Working as a bike tour guide is a demanding but highly rewarding job. In fact, it’s more of a passion than a job, as you have to provide high-quality tours consistently and maintain a friendly and positive attitude.

- Can legally work in France and register as self-employed
- Speak fluent English (C1+) and are comfortable with international groups

Nice-To-Haves
- You speak Dutch or French
- Ideally, you live in or near the city centre of Nice
- You have a general working knowledge of Nice and the French Riviera
- Some bike maintenance skills
Conditions
- Part-time work: mornings, afternoons, weekdays & weekends
- Tours last 3–5 hours (city & E-bike tours)
- High season: April–October
- Off-season work available (Dec–March) with groups like students, backpackers & corporates
Salary & Registration
- €17/hour as a registered autoentrepreneur
- 23% social tax, declared quarterly
- Registration takes 8–15 days
Our Nice Cycle Tour takes guests to the Old Town, the Promenade des Anglais, Place Massena, Place Garibaldi and up the Castle Hill. It’s the best introduction to the city of Nice. Ideally, if guests do the tour on their first day in Nice, we can set them up for the rest of their holidays.
What makes a good Cycle Tour guide:
- Knows how to ride a bike
- Has elementary bike maintenance skills
- Is a good storyteller
- Easily connects with people
- Has a winning smile

For guests that want to go further afield, we offer a selection of French Riviera eBike tours. Going to Villefranche, St Jean Cap Ferrat, or the Bellet area, we use bikes with electrical assistance (eBikes) to cover the extra distance and climbing with great ease.
As an eBike guide, you need to be:
- Comfortable riding a bike for a long time
- Have extensive bike maintenance skills
- Great autonomy and the ability to improvise when problems arise
- Be a good storyteller
- Have a winning smile

Recruitment & Training Process

Initial Phone Call
We call all candidates considered for an audition for a quick informal chat.
Interview & Audition
The audition consists of a face-to-face interview (exceptionally we can organise a Zoom meeting in person if impracticable).
Coming Along on a Tour
After the interview, we may ask you to come along on one of our tours to experience a typical tour.
Additional Interviews & Tests
We will also call referees to get a better understanding of your personality and background.
Training Program
We offer paid training of approx 10–20 hrs depending on which tours we are training you for.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Training
Your training doesn't stop there! A senior guide will come on your tours regularly.
